Manan Parikh is a Solar Analyst for GTM Research covering global downstream markets with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to GTM, his work has been extensively research based, centering upon alternative fuels infrastructure development and Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS) policy models for the Schatz Energy Research Center and UC Berkeley in Northern California. In California, he was also an ambassador to start-up teams within the Clean Tech Open accelerator as well as a consultant to DOE SunShot Catalyst Award winner, PVComplete. In Washington, DC he worked on biomass policy at the American Council On Renewable Energy. He is an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry, as well as the DC-based Clean Energy Leadership Institute in its inaugural class.

Before joining FMO in 2005, Clem was seconded to the United Nations ESCAP in Thailand and United Nations ECLAC in Trinidad & Tobago, and he worked as VP and Risk Manager at Nomura, the Indonesian Overseas Bank and Rabobank. Clem graduated in 1989 in applied econometrics at the University of Amsterdam.

Cecilia Aguillon is the Director of the Energy Transition Initiative Program at the Institute of the Americas, an impartial and independent non-profit organization promoting dialogue and collaboration across the Western Hemisphere to foster sound public policies and to advance sustainable inclusive economic growth and prosperity. She enables public-private dialogues to develop sustainable renewable energy markets. Cecilia worked at Kyocera Solar, Inc. in California on Business Development and Government Relations for 18 years. She worked with policy makers on designing solar energy programs and renewable portfolio standards for implementation across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. She developed these initiatives in cooperation with several trade associations throughout the United States. She served on the board of the California Solar Energy Industries Association (CalSEIA) and participated in the design and implementation of the California Solar Initiative. She is currently on the board of the Climate Action Campaign working to implement sustainable energy programs for San Diego, California.

In addition to its power development consulting business, MGI has served clients in the areas of Cross-border International Finance and more recently in alternative energy. Elio Muller is Co-Founder and CEO of Solar Axiom (SAX). SAX is focused on the development and ownership of small commercial solar energy production facilities in Florida, the Caribbean and Central America. He is also Team Leader of EU projects to develop partial risk guarantees for grid-tied renewables in Sub-Saharan Africa and to design a program to use PVs to electrify 1000 schools and health facilities in The Gambia.

Angella Rainford is the Managing Director of Rekamniar Frontier Ventures (Rekamniar) which develops businesses in emerging markets. She is also the Founder and a Director of the Eight Rivers Energy Company (EREC) which was been awarded 37MW solar PV in Jamaica. EREC is a joint venture between Rekamniar and the French IPP, Neoen International. Prior to founding Rekamniar, Angella worked at Goldman Sachs in the Merchant Banking Division (Principal Investment Area) in London and New York. While at Goldman, she worked on corporate and infrastructure private equity transactions. She began her career at McKinsey & Company in New York, advising Fortune 100 clients on business strategy.

She served as an advisor on power and energy investment in Africa to Helios Investment Partners, a $3.0bn private equity fund. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for GK Capital Management, the financial advisory and investment arm of the Grace Kennedy Group and JN Money Services, a subsidiary of the Jamaica National Building Society.

Angella holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. She also graduated with a BA (magna cum laude) in Government from Harvard College.

In his current role, Gemel has also been involved in the structuring and financing of renewable energy projects including both utility scale solar and commercial scale solar projects. Gemel led the CIBC FirstCaribbean team that executed the financing of the first utility scale solar project on Grand Cayman, a transaction that won the award for “Best Project Financing” at the 2017 Caribbean Renewable Energy Forum (CREF). Prior to joining CIBC FirstCaribbean, Gemel was based in Toronto where he worked as a Senior Financial Analyst with Bank of Montreal in their Corporate and Investment Banking division and also as a Strategy Consultant with Deloitte Consulting in their Toronto Financial Services practice.

Gemel holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Western Ontario, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.

Mathias Möhrpahl cuenta con más de 8 años de experiencia en Latinoamérica y en el sector financiero de consultoría internacional. Durante los últimos años, ha estado trabajando en Ficus Capital, una de las principales boutiques de banca de inversión enfocada puramente en el cono sur de América Latina, con capacidad de ejecución de transacciones completas y desarrollo de proyectos en Argentina, Brasil, Uruguay y otros países de América Latina. Ha trabajado en varias transacciones importantes en los sectores de energía renovable, alimentos y bebidas, transporte y en el sector de servicios financieros en países como Uruguay, Argentina y Brasil.
Actualmente, está muy implicado en estructuraciones de acuerdos de energía renovable y en el desarrollo de proyectos en Argentina, donde Ficus Capital ha establecido recientemente una nueva oficina. En el pasado, Mathias Möhrpahl ha ocupado cargos de Director de Gestión de Activos e Instituciones Financieras, centrado principalmente en la identificación y financiación de las diferentes inversiones, así como en la gestión de las operaciones y la información de los flujos transfronterizos y los procesos de decisión, sobre todo entre instituciones alemanas y nórdicas, y sus filiales en Chile.

Joel Garcia-Galan is the CEO and co-founder of Wirewatt, the first online lending platform for distributed solar in the residential and small-commercial markets in Mexico, which provides solar loans to end-customers and solar companies.
Mr. Garcia successfully led Wirewatt’s creation and fundraising of its fund “Wirewatt I”, the first fund of its kind to finance distributed solar loans in Mexico, subscribed by mostly European investors.

Previously, he served as an application engineer, designing and implementing energy monitoring solutions in data centers, for Schneider Electric in the U.S.
Moreover, Mr. Garcia-Galan was an associate doing research on solar supply chains for the Clean Energy Incubator at the Austin Technology Incubator in Austin, Texas.
He started his solar career as a systems engineer at venture-backed solar power electronic startup Solar Power Technologies in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Garcia-Galan holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Power Systems and Renewable Energy from the University of Texas at Austin.

Seth Kleinman is a founding partner of Avolta, a Costa Rica based regional DG Solar Developer focused on the C&I sector. Prior to this Seth spent 20 years as an energy analyst and trader at institutions including Hess Energy Trading, Morgan Stanley, Glencore and finally Citibank where through mid-2017 he was MD Global Head of Energy Strategy. This involved wandering the globe talking energy with companies and governments, and fostered Seth's firm conviction that the days of the fossil fuel industry are numbered and that Central America was a terrific place to join the battle in the energy transition. Patrick Doyle is Senior Managing Director at MGM Innova Capital, where he focuses on originating and structuring investments as well as monitoring MGM Sustainable Energy Fund I (MSEF I)’s investment portfolio. He is leading sourcing/early screening for several MSEF I investments in solar distributed generation, small hydro, energy efficiency and biogas. Additionally, he is MSEF I's environmental and social compliance officer.
Before joining MGM Innova Capital, Mr. Doyle was a Senior Energy and Climate Officer in the Structured and Corporate Finance Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he led the IDB’s transactions and technical support for distributed generation and energy efficiency, and managed numerous international climate funds. Prior to the IDB he was a strategy consultant advising companies, governments, and financial institutions on clean energy markets and technologies. His professional experience also includes working for a clean-tech start-up and as the manager of energy and environmental compliance for a large facility.
